Shane Tinnin
a.k.a. “The Hat”
Shane brings his passion for process and accountability to every custom Skillway solution.
Shane’s career in the software industry started before he could drive. After programming a database system for his high school, he headed off to college to earn a Computer Science degree—writing code for several complex software projects in the public and private sectors by the time he graduated at the age of 20.
Shane applied his programming background (and love for problem-solving) into a career as an executive, leading software and IT departments in the staffing and mortgage industries. As a client of consultants, then a consultant himself, Shane knows that careful research, planning, and implementation can make incredible impacts on a company and its employees. Shane is Skillway’s de facto research nerd—he reads over 70 books per year, constantly searching for new best practices to apply to Skillway and share with clients.
From the time they met, Dew and Shane have been crucial partners in each other’s projects—mentoring and coaching each other throughout their careers. In 2017, they combined Dew’s knowledge and love of sales with Shane’s consulting and operations experience—and Skillway was born.

Shane grew up in rural Oklahoma, in a family of cowboys and truckers. He married Dew in 2004 and has a grown son, Spencer. He’s a technology geek and country/bluegrass musician (guitar, fiddle, and mandolin). Shane and Dew have lived in Nashville since 2011.
Fun Fact:
Shane is a singer/songwriter who has opened for nationally touring artists, including Little Big Town and Eric Church.
